A woman was allegedly attacked and stabbed three times while walking her dog in the Ballybrit Heights area of Galway yesterday evening. The victim reportedly sustained wounds to her hands, believed to be defensive injuries as she attempted to block the knife. Despite her injuries, she managed to escape and seek help.

An Garda Síochána has yet to release an official statement on the incident, but sources indicate that authorities are actively seeking witnesses and requesting dashcam footage from the Ballybrit area between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM last night.

Local news outlet Galway Bay FM has referred to the incident as "an alleged assault," while major mainstream media outlets have yet to report on the attack.

Residents in the area have expressed growing concerns about safety, with some calling for increased Garda patrols. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no arrests have been reported at this time.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Galway Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line. More updates to follow as the situation develops.
